Disney’s Junior Adventurers Website: Make a Gargoyle and Learn French Body Parts

I’m a huge Disney fan—from Mickey Mouse to Cinderella to Epcot Center, I just love it all.  And now I’m loving Disney’s oh-so-global Junior Adventurers website for kids.  You’ll find fantastic online culture and language games that prepare kids for an international Disney Adventure family tour.  Don’t even get me started about how much I want to book one of these Disney tours for a family vacation.  One of these days . . .

In the meantime, I’ll be playing and reviewing all of the fun online games, including:

Learn the Lingo — a German vocabulary matching game

A Very Silly Story — a fun storytelling activity set in China

Find Those Tapas — a yummy hidden picture game featuring Spain

Uncovering Pompeii — a matching game of ancient Italy

Today, let’s take a look at Disney’s Junior Adventurer Build Your Own Gargoyle game.  Gargoyles are the monstrous looking creatures that carry rain water off of gothic cathedrals, such as Notre Dame in Paris.  Teach your kids some French body parts vocabulary as they construct their very own gargoyle.

Pedestal = le piédestal

Body = le corps

Wings = les ailes

Eyes = les yeux

Mouth = la bouche

Horns = les cornes

Gargoyle = la gargouille

When your kids have had their fill of gargoyle-construction, print off a French map to color from the “Getting Ready” tab of the site.  Enjoy a French Disney Adventure, if only in your imagination.

Bon voyage!
