Foreign Language Fun Bulletin Board: Call for Kid Art! Free Gift!
As a career teacher, I feel lost without a bulletin board. So why not have one on the blog? I’d like to invite any kids learning a foreign language to create a picture for the brand new Foreign Language Fun bulletin board. My kindergartener has kicked things off, and I predict that he will be a prolific contributor. My littlest guy will get in on the fun, too. I’ll keep the bulletin board as a sidebar widget, but you can take a look at a mini-sized sample here:
Here’s how your child can contribute:
1. Create a picture and label it in the foreign language of your choice. (English is fine if it’s the child’s second language.) A single word is great. A sentence is even better. An entire paragraph can earn you extra credit! Images created with markers look best online.
2. Scan your picture and save it as a .png or .jpg file. Email it to me as at attachment at kindergartenpicks@gmail.com
3. Names are optional, but first names only please.
4. The best classroom bulletin boards are seasonal. Think fall. Think Halloween. If you need some ideas, check out these recent posts with Halloween vocab in Spanish and French.

I think this is a great idea to promote foreign language and especially french since it is kind being neglected now over Spainish. A good idea would be to talk to the kids about South America and how when its our winter its their spring and our different seasons. Another good idea I think would be for special holiday write the foreign words for pumpkins, turkey, santa claus etc and they can draw more pictures.
I’m loving this Slide gallery-bulletin board! Mr. Teacher, I think it’s a great idea to talk about different seasons in different places. And I’m definitely going to provide lessons that kids can do either at home, or to submit to this site. My teacher-brain is just exploding with ideas!
