Improved French and Spanish Oral Skills with Yabla
Just a quick post to tell you how excited I am to see some positive results from Yabla. I just started this French video program about two weeks ago with my high school level II students. They had to listen to two native-French videos at home, and then earn a predetermined amount of points on the Yabla game. It was due today.
After my immersion crepe-cooking lesson this afternoon, my students and I were all just chillin’ and eating. That’s when I overheard the kids talking about the videos. Reciting lines. Singing parts of the song. I could not believe how much language had infiltrated their brains in such a short amount of time. That’s immersion for you! And that’s what I call QUALITY homework and time well spent. And kids are asking me to assign more videos. Let me get this straight . . . they are asking for more homework? Woo-hoooooooo
