Spanish Weather Expressions and Song

Published on March 12, 2010 by in Songs, Spanish

Let’s learn some common Spanish weather expressions:

¿Qué tiempo hace? = What’s the weather like?

Hace sol = It’s sunny

Hace calor = It’s hot

Está nublado = It’s cloudy

Hace buen tiempo = The weather is nice

Hace frío = It’s cold

Hace viento = It’s windy

Está lloviendo = It’s rainly

Hace mal tiempo = The weather is bad

My amiga Catherine has recorded a catchy, effective Spanish song to help learners talk about the weather.  The tune is “Michael Finnegan.”  Be sure to use visuals and gestures to reinforce the meanings as you teach your kids.  Check it out!
